Why am I running?  What’s at stake?

It’s an important year, critical election and I’m running to help ensure our way of life and the NH tradition stays intact.  There are many organizations and individuals out there looking to change things… and not for the better!

There’s a whole movement who want to take what people work hard for and give it to people and causes that, quite frankly, don’t deserve it.  No rich people (well, except for those making the laws), no poor people.  Well, it’s call Socialism and there hasn’t been one successful Socialist country in the history of this planet.  The idea, eliminate poverty, is sound.  It’s the plan that’s lacking.  You want to eliminate poverty, incentivize hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.  Eventually, people will figure it out: work hard, succeed.  Don’t want to work, well, you’re going to struggle.

We need to get government out of our homes and businesses.  Less government and less regulations at the federal, state and local level.  I can’t even buy a steak from a local farmer.  They cannot sell to individuals without going through a USDA Inspection process.  That costs money, more than many can afford.  So we need to buy from big grocery stores who buy from big distributors.  Have you noticed how many hundreds of thousands of pounds of meat has been recalled this year?  Have you seen that problem with the local farmers?  No… I’d rather buy from a farmer I know.  A farm I can visit and see what’s going on.  Our federal government claims larger grocery stores are price gouging then insist we buy from them.  Not too smart, in my opinion.

We have national security issues that have been ignored and continue to be ignored.  Our borders are not secure.  We are spending billions we should not have to spend.  It seems like bad ideas start on the West Coast and work their way East.  California is now likely going to give home loans to illegals, Oregon most likely to follow, while many of our Veterans are homeless or struggling.  I say NO!  Some will say that’s not NH so you don’t have a dog in this fight.  First, those ideas will be here soon.  Second, California is billions in debt.  They’re most likely going to spend more on this program, they’re putting illegals up in hotels, they’re looking into reparation payments, they’re losing companies and people so tax revenue is going down.  What happens when the next natural disaster hits?  The federal government has to bail them out.  And that is our tax money!  Oregon and Washington are moving in the same direction; NJ, NY, CT, and MA are not far behind.  If we lose the Governor’s Mansion, House and Senate, we’re next.  We are one election away from becoming North Massachusetts.

That’s why I am running.  To help ensure our way of life is secure for our children and grandchildren.  But I can’t do it alone.  I need your help.  The time for sitting on the sidelines hoping someone else will fix the problem is over.  This is the start of a team.  The Live Free or Die team.  Really, it isn’t as hard as you think.  We need to get the word out.  With most issues, there are 10% on either side.  We’re not going to change their minds.  We’re fighting to reach the 80% in the middle.  It’s hearts and minds we need to win.  We do that by getting the word out.  If you can afford to, please donate to my campaign: howard4nh.com.  If you can volunteer some time, please do so.  We’ll need people to canvass, knock on doors, to help spread the word in the coming months.  How about putting up a yard sign?  Or talking to people?  Tell your neighbors who you’re voting for and why, it will make a difference.  I need you on our team.

NH is worth fighting for, no doubt; but it’s even bigger than that.  Our local towns, our state and our Country need our help.  We can’t just win this election.  It needs to be a landslide.  We have to send a message.  It is time to bring America back.  Our borders need to be secured.  Jobs have to be brought back to the country.  We absolutely must make owning a business less restrictive, more profitable.  We need to encourage investment and the entrepreneurial spirit.  When that happens, the Country prospers and individuals prosper.  Small government means people that work hard keep more of what they earn.  Jobs are a concern.  We’re told unemployment is low and things are good.  But then we find out 800,000 jobs we were told were created weren’t.  I’ve watched company after company announce layoffs and closures.  Where is all this job creation coming from?  Do some research… those are government jobs.  They are not helping the situation.  They are costing the taxpayers more.  We need job creation in the private sector.  Less regulation, less government interference.

So, join my team.  We’ll do what’s right for Canaan, Dorchester and Orange.  We’ll do what’s right for NH and we’ll send a message to the whole Country.  Let me be your voice in Concord!
